Dance your own poetry and retrieve
your power, from deep in your
unconscious psyche
The soul speaks in symbols, in signs. In instincts, tingles and images.
The soul whispers. It doesn’t shout.
This rich place hides hushéd truths…
…our untapped strengths…
…our hidden hunger…
…our brilliance, bursting to bloom.
For years, I’ve danced these questions:
𓆸 How do we dance the poetry, myth and magick within us to life?
𓆸 How can we let soul and shadow speak, through the body?
This is at the heart of this heart-led workshop.

🪶 THE SOUL BODY
We’ll drop into the land of sensations and feelings, through the body. Allowing the soft animal body to awaken, and then going on a delightful sensory adventure! The fresh leaves, the warmth of the sun, the smell of the flowers…
We’ll allow The Dance Of Joy to help us revel in these sensory delights!
Then we’ll dance freely, awakening the play and glory of the inner child. Our hands and feet becoming the paintbrushes on the canvas of the dance floor.
As we Shapeshift, becoming a dolphin, a star, the long grasses waving in the wind… becoming the poetry we long to feel!
We’ll deepen from sensation through feeling into the meaningful. It’s a dancing conversation with the rich, inner life. The imagination offering a limitless realm of possibility. The heart anchoring us in our inner beauty, so we can bloom.
Inviting the numinous to burst through into our dance, we’ll meet our luminous inner child, and the soulful song beneath the surface.
This is playtime for the creative expression, and for ritual, prayer, medicine and personal myth.
From there, we build The Circle of Life: a constellation of ancestry, allies, forces of nature, pets, spirit guides, and whoever else your psyche chooses to include. We dance our spiritual support to life, allowing the divine guidance we need to arise.
“Come with a question and dance the answer.”

In Body As Oracle, no tarot cards are needed. The body becomes the tool of divination.
A gesture.
A pulse.
A direction.
A memory.
A spark.
Surrendering to the mystery, in dance can be more meaningful than anything mind-made.
Come to a class or training with me and we’ll create a safe space for exploring these parts of ourselves. A space to be witnessed—and to witness others—in their blooming, and in letting the body speak.
I’ll guide some of the fifteen-or-so exercises from the Soul Body. We’ll practice listening to the symbols that want to dance through us, and the meaning that they hold for our lives.
“The body is an oracle.”

🌒 THE SHADOW BODY
Now we have built our resources, we know where our safe place, our sanctuary or place of comfort lies.
We take solace in the beauty of the nature around us, and in caring community.
In Ritual Dance we’ll explore group synergy as we move, breathing together, letting the relational body settle us, and offering our dance as prayers of goodwill.
In The Sanctuary of the Body, we’ll allowing ourselves to be supported as we rise, supported as we fall. So powerful to feel that someone is truly with us!
We’ll venture into The Body Speaks, with this sense of being resourced and relaxed. Meanings will emerge from the mystery, like whales floating up from the deep…
Slowing down enough to hear the messages whispering in:
…the hanging jaw,
…the fluttering tummy,
…the tightness of postponed truths,
…the tenderness, beneath the tension,
…the subtle sensations of buried desires.
We soften and allow the soul to speak through the body. Embracing the shy parts of ourselves that long to be seen. With gentle enquiry, something will shift. A release, some relief. We remember old dreams or long-forgotten strengths.

This is not airy-fairy woo woo. This is practical work with the unconscious that has real impact on our daily lives.
We’ll journey into our shadowlands, recovering what was lost, from the soul-signals we’ve been neglecting.
We listen, and let the body reveal that which eludes the conscious mind.
This isn’t a trauma-fest or pseudo-therapy. We’ll only work with what feels workable through dance, through supportive frameworks, caring community and clear facilitation.
The body becomes the gateway to the numinous; to the w-holy, or that-which-makes-us-whole.
Meanings rich with myth and imagery will reveal themselves mysteriously, like moonlight shining from the fertile darkness.
You can bring questions to explore in our dance-divination like:
𓆸 What is this murky feeling, under the surface?
𓆸 What stops me from getting a good night’s sleep?
𓆸 Why do I repeat the same relational patterns, e.g. people pleasing, bickering?
𓆸 What stops me from embodying myself at my best?
Previous participants had discoveries like these…
“My Polish ancestors started dancing with me!”
“My shoulders said, ‘You’re holding too much.'”
“I started shaking. My body said, ‘It’s time to shake off the guilt.'”
“I became a happy baby, floating in an huge, warm mother ocean.”
The symbols we unearth in our dance are often a relief. And no surprise. Often they’ve been lurking under the surface and we’ve been ignoring them in our daily life.
Here’s the space to glimpse and glean their meaning.
The fifteen-or-so exercises from the Shadow Body will help you navigate your unconscious and your divine dance with life. The somatic tools we use are simple and easy to remember, so they can continue to help you for decades afterwards.
The compass of the soul is within you.

A DAY OF DANCING OURSELVES ALIVE
In the forthcoming workshop, Soul Body, Shadow Body, I invite you into these enquiries with me.

A DAY OF DANCING OUR POETRY, MEANING AND PURPOSE
This workshop is for you if:
🌿 You want to dance with your imagination, with your soul, as a prayer
🌿 You want to feel more connected to your inner guidance and body’s intelligence
🌿 You want more freedom in how you move through the world
You don’t need to “be good at dance.” Just curiosity and a willingness to listen, and show up for yourself and your community.
Expect both dance exercises and longer sessions of free dance — tender, wild, simple, honest… whatever the soul wants to dance through you… followed by opportunities to share and integarte in circle and small groups.
Our venue, Christchurch Milton is a hidden gem: stained-glass windows, lavishly wood panelled, majestic ceilings. As soon as I walked in, my whole body said “Yes, this is a place of the soul!”
It will become our outer sanctuary as we find the sancutary within.
Let’s dance a richer, more-integrated version of ourselves alive!
This sacred somatic work feels precious.
I would be absolutely honoured to dance this journey with you.
